Cameras scan the board for width, taper and crook to produce high yields at the ripsaws. Optional software can be used to find wane and major defects for even greater yields.
The Ultimizer Lateral Scanners consist of three major components:
1. Multiple color cameras mounted over the lumber to be scanned. There are typically six cameras for 16 ft. long boards. 2. A high-capacity computer to process the scanned images. 3. Software to optimize the best rip yields.
