VX Series
The VX machine series is
designed for many different types of vertical boring. Tables,
frames, and frame parts are some of the parts that may be
processed with this machine series. Although these machines were
designed primarily for solid wood parts, many panel parts may
also be machined.
The standard machine is equipped with two independent carriages.
These tool carriages have a three spindle individually
selectable drill head. Any size bit may be put into any spindle.
No tool changer is necessary. Six different tools may be in the
machine at any given time.
The machine has a program to automatically measure the length of
each tool. This program allows the operator to simply load the
tools in the machine without worrying about tool setup. The
machine recalls the length of each tool to give the appropriate
depth of drilling.
Many drill head configurations are available. 32mm as well as
other styles of drill heads are optional. Routing is available
in single or multiple head configurations.
The clamping tables are unique in design and setup. Eight clamps
are standard. Different clamping heads are available to hold odd
shaped parts. Parts may be stacked in the clamping fixtures, and
multiple parts may be drilled at once. Locating holes are also
tapped into the clamping modules so that fixtures may be used
anywhere on the working surface.
Two work zones are standard. Parts may be loaded in one side of
the machine while the other side is running. Safety mats are
provided for each zone so that the machine will not work while
the operator is in front of the working zone.
All motion is CNC controlled, and program storage is unlimited.
A color touch screen is used to load and recall programs.
Programming is very fast. A new program can generally be written
in about two minutes. Hole positions are shown on the screen for
easy verification of layouts.
With the VX machine most parts can be run in the same amount of
time as was previously needed just for machine setup. Small lot
sizes as well as large batches may be run in a short amount of
time.
