C.R. Onsrud
Company Profile
|
|
In 1915, Oscar Onsrud and his son Rudy built the world's first "Jet Motor" (air turbine) hand router.
Oscar went on to patent the "Inverted Router" in 1976, an idea and
machine that revolutionized the woodworking industry, increasing
safety and usability. Today C.R. Onsrud is a manufacturer represented
by quality and innovation, parts availability, overall value, and
customer and distribution support to offer you high-quality machines
at prices their competitors claim are not possible.

Panel Tech (P Series)
The Panel Tech was designed and built to be a
lower cost alternative to our most popular Panel Pro Series by trimming some
of the extras, without many of the compromises of entry level machines. The Panel
Tech uses a large, thick walled, tubular steel bridge. It also employs the same
dual direct drive, dual support, closed frame and moving gantry design as our
Panel Pro.
|
|
Panel Pro (G-Series)
On this Moving Gantry Machine, the table stays
fixed while the bridge moves over its surface. This design saves valuable
floor space and allows for useful options (such as tool
changers and multi-spindle drilling heads). When designed and built correctly,
the Panel Pro can easily break down full sheets of 1-1/2" thick plywood, laminates, or veneers at super
fast speed rates, under continuous duty conditions and handle solid wood applications on a limited basis.
|
|
Super Duty (C Series)
At Onsrud, "Fixed Bridge" means cast iron, which
has a better ability to absorb and dampen cutting vibrations. It also
means the spindle travels the stationary bridge along the width of the tables
while the tables pass underneath the bridge along their short dimension. This
design only uses half of the floor space that a typical "Tubular Fixed Gantry"
design would use.
|
 |
Extreme Duty (HD-Series)
The Onsrud Extreme Duty Series CNC Router is designed and
built to be the heaviest, fastest, and highest performing machine available in the world
at any price. The "oversized" cast iron frame is mated to our one-piece, self-supportive,
heat-treated, stress-relieved and normalized, internally reinforced, thick-walled,
tubular steel base for unrivaled weight, mass, rigidity, durability, feeds, and speeds.
|
 |
5-Axis Panel Pro (F-Type, G-Series)
All C.R. Onsrud 5-axis machines have large vertical
rams and "oversized" servos for fast positioning and smooth cutting. This design
is faster, smoother, and far more rigid than our competitor's comparable machines.

500 SS Intermediate Duty/Light Production
The Onsrud model 500SS is capable of plunge routing
and profiling both inside cuts in hardwoods, softwoods, man-made woods, non-ferrous
metals, aluminum, and a variety of plastics and composites. The 500 SS is generally
best utilized in intermittent duty/light production duty.
|
|
750 SS Medium to Light-Heavy Duty
The Onsrud model 750 SS is a production duty
router that can be used, when properly maintained, for up to 3 shifts per day.
It is capable of plunge routing and profiling both inside and outside cuts in
hardwoods, softwoods, man-made woods, non-ferrous metals, aluminum, and a
variety of plastics and composites. The 750 SS is best utilized in medium to
light heavy duty routing applications.
