PU-2SF: Routing and Miter Cutting Machine

The Hoffmann PU-2SF dovetail routing machine is a free standing production unit. This model is equipped with a high-speed router motor, located at the center of the machine. The supplied adjustable fence plate, which is guided in a keyway in the machine table, is used to accurately position the material on the table. The location of the dovetail slots for the Hoffmann Keys is adjusted by simply moving this fence plate.

The machine is equipped with a saw blade, which moves from the left to the right side, cutting the tip of the material at the desired miter angle. Upon retracting of the saw blade, the router motor moves into position and automatically routs a dovetail keyway into the mitered end.

The machine is equipped with an electronic foot pedal to start the machining process. Actuating the pedal initiates the routing sequence:

• Pneumatic clamps secures work pieces on machine table
• Saw carriage moves from left to right side guide rods, cutting the desired miter angle
• Saw carriage returns to home position
• Router heads advance until the pre-set height position is reached
• Router heads return to base position
• Pneumatic clamps releases work piece

Flow control valves on the pneumatic cylinders allow the operator to adjust the various feed rates independently, depending on the material being processed.
