In 2003, ORMA•Midwest was formed between longtime business associates, Midwest Automation and ORMA Macchine of Bergamo, Italy, with emphasis on expanding ORMA's market share in North America.

ORMA Macchine, founded in Italy in 1963, is a manufacturer of hydraulic pressing systems which include membrane presses, hot and cold presses, and frame presses, with over 7,000 installed worldwide. ORMA Macchine currently employs over 150 employees operating in 4 factories totaling 150,000 square feet in Bergamo, and produce 400 to 500 machines annually.
