The F410 Nova T is a heavy duty, long bed 16” jointer designed to meet the needs of the most demanding environments. It features cast iron tables, tilting fence and a quick change Tersa cutterhead.

All SCM Jointers use aged cast iron tables that are machine polished to the highest tolerances. These castings are ribbed to ensure maximum strength and to avoid problems with the tables warping or breaking during use. The longer tables ensure board straightness. Our tables are over 102 inches to make sure that the workpiece will be straight every time.

All SCM Jointers incorporate a parallelogram movement of the infeed and outfeed tables. This system has the table height adjustment through a system of four cams (one per corner of support) that pivot on a radius equal to the head radius. This radiused pivot ensures that the table chip breaker remains in the correct position from the head. Some manufacturers use a wedge type movement which allows the table and chip breaker to move away from the head as it is adjusted for more removal. This will allow splintering and poor quality finish.

SCMI Jointers include the quick change knife heads by "Tersa". This cutterhead eliminates the necessity of gauging the knives each time to ensure proper setting position. The Tersa knives automatically reference into position when the head is turned on. Removal of the knives is as simple as tapping down the wedge blocks and sliding out the knives. Since the knives are two-sided, they can be flipped over, reinserted, and used again.

Shown here, the standard guard offered on SCM Jointers is a spring type guard which always covers the unused portion of the knife. Other European style guards require the guard to be manually moved into place when the fence is readjusted. When processing thick wood, this does not cover the blade as completely.
